In 2007 driver distractions were responsible for 1,000 crashes for kids 16 to 17 years of age who were using a cell phone to talk or text.

* 60% of American teenagers admit that they’ve engaged in risky driving and over 30% of those that have made that admission have also admitted to texting and driving.

Every single year 21% of the fatal car crashes that involve teens between the ages of 16-19 are the result of cell phone use. The result isn’t expected to go down at all and is actually expected to rise to as much as 4% every single year.
